Rotary India Literacy Mission (RILM) and Govt of Maharashtra entered into an MoU to make 60000 schools digital. Pristine conducted it’s launch program and a public event as PI activity. We, on behalf of district, organised an event of 7 districts across Maharashtra. Event had RILM Chair PRID Shekhar Mehta, PRIP Kalyan Banerjee, PRID Ashok Mahajan. Union Cabinet Minister Shri Prakash Javdekar was Chief Guest and Maharashtra State Education Secretary Nand Kumar (IAS) was guest of honor as well. 5 serving District Governors, many PDG from other districts in Maharashtra and different parts of India were present. The overwhelming response (no place to even stand and 100 people went back as there was no place) showed success of event Pristine Literacy Competition – On side lines of the event, we conducted Literacy Project Competition. 34 Clubs participated. Literacy team and Shekhar ji served as Jury and gave awards to top 3 best projects. 350+ people visited Project Exhibition area. PI Messages delivered from RILM MoU 1) Tremendous Focus of Rotary on Literacy 2) Close tie up and Commitment to Prime Minister’s program of Literacy 3) Scale of the project showcased bigger, bolder and better impact Pre-event Publicity: Press Briefing and Press Note was issued with quotes from DG Abhay. It was extensively printed in all main Marathi and English newspapers, and several small publications and online news sources Through RILM, we reached and invited to several top educationist, top Rotary leaders and Directors creating internal PI for RID 3131 Over 5000 Rotarians were sent details of the program. It created a positive impression about Rotary in our own members and families. Over 34 clubs participating in exhibition and over 500 people visiting the venue showed how it was most successful Event and PI initiative of the year Post Event Publicity: Extensive coverage of news – with photo, prime page headline, and 3 or 4 column x 15or 20 cm news content. In Sakal, MaTa, Loksatta, Sakal Times, Times of India and 13 other publications News brief on Doordarshan and ABP Maza. Social Media coverage by various Rotarians and District leaders – Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter Prakash Javdekar himself tweeted, posted on his facebook – reaches to over 100,000 + people and top Gov ministers and officials.
